Make a Difference as a Volunteer at La Casa Hogar At La Casa Hogar, we believe every person has something meaningful to offer. Volunteering is a powerful way to support our Latinx immigrant community while growing in connection, understanding, and solidarity. There are many ways to get involved — each with its own focus and level of commitment:
Support at La Escuelita or in the Legal Services
Department Volunteers in these areas work directly with children or support sensitive legal processes. Because of this, a background check and training are required, in accordance with the law and our commitment to safety and confidentiality.
Support in Classes and Events
You can assist in English classes, citizenship preparation (in English or Spanish), cultural exchange groups, or during one of our vibrant community events. These opportunities are often more flexible and may not require a formal application.
Help Care for Our Spaces
Volunteers are also essential in caring for the physical spaces where our programs happen. This includes garden maintenance, organizing classrooms, or making small repairs — all of which help create a safe, welcoming, and dignified environment for families.
